Lesley is an artist and jewelry maker who is inspired by nature & the unique flora and greenery of Louisiana.
Collages: Each collage is hand crafted using vintage illustrations cut from books procured from the dusty corners of used bookstores and thrift shops in New Orleans. Images are painstakingly cut out, rearranged on a wood canvas, and sealed with a gloss finish. The recycled, once forgotten illustrations in the collages are reminders to cherish & protect our natural environment.
Jewelry: The flowers and natural materials in each piece of jewelry are hand-picked, pressed, and preserved in epoxy resin. All of the natural materials are ethically sourced from personal gardens and public spaces in New Orleans. The majority of metal components and chain used are deadstock and vintage materials: these items are meant to showcase the natural flora of south Louisiana. (Jewelry is usually sold in person at art markets. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for any online jewelry orders.)
5% of each sale will be donated to the Gulf Restoration Network to support their mission of uniting and empowering people to protect and restore the natural resources of the Gulf Region.
